THE ROLE OF SCHOOL SUPERVISORS IN CONTROLLING TEACHER QUALITY

The role of school supervisors is crucial in enhancing the quality of education; however, their effectiveness in the context of junior high schools in rural areas has yet to be extensively studied. This research aims to analyze the role of school supervisors in controlling teacher quality at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh, focusing on six indicators: inspecting, advising, monitoring, coordinating, reporting, and performing leadership. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with one school supervisor and two teachers. The results indicate that the supervisor has performed their role quite well, but some areas need improvement, such as contextualizing supervision, balancing monitoring efforts, and decisiveness in decision-making. Based on these findings, the research proposes a new model called "Integrative-Contextual School Supervision" (PSIK), which integrates various aspects of the supervisor's role within a holistic and adaptive framework. This model offers a more comprehensive approach to school supervision, considering the complexities of contemporary educational contexts. Implementing PSIK can improve the effectiveness of school supervision, teacher quality, and, ultimately, the overall quality of education. This study paves the way for developing school supervision practices that are more responsive to the challenges of 21st-century education.

Keywords: School Supervisor, Controlling, Teacher Quality

MERDEKA CURRICULUM AT SDIT IRSYADUL ‘IBAD FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF RECONSTRUCTIONISM PHILOSOPHY

The Independent Curriculum is a development of the K13 curriculum that focuses on developing students' talents, potentials, and interests by digitizing learning with technology. This curriculum begins the Society 5.0 era, where technology dominates. The Independent Curriculum consists of four schools of educational philosophy, each of which has a different way of building a curriculum. One of them is the Reconstructionist philosophy. To find out what dominates the philosophy of education, the development of the independent curriculum must be reviewed from a Reconstructionist perspective. This will make it possible to determine the basis of the curriculum and its results. A qualitative method was used in this study. The primary source of this study came from scientific literature, while secondary sources came from supporting sources such as essays, papers, and interview results with teachers. The results of the study show that reconstructionism is an important component in changing the SDIT Irsyadul Ibad curriculum to the Independent Curriculum.
FOSTERING AN INCLUSIVE ATTITUDE AS A FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF CULTURAL LITERACY THROUGH THE STUDY VISIT METHOD AT SD NEGERI 7 MANGGAR

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of diminishing appreciation among students with different cultural backgrounds. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 7 Manggar, East Belitung Regency. In this study, the researcher intends to review the application of the study visit method as an effort that has been undertaken by school to support the process of cultural literacy, which then serves as a response to the existing phenomenon. A qualitative approach is used in this research because it allows for a more accurate understanding of the phenomena that occur. The method used is narrative inquiry research, this method was chosen because it relates to experiences and life events. The research process is supported by using observation and unstructured interview data collection techniques. The data used was then analyzed with reference to the data analysis by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The research findings explain that through the process of cultural literacy by conducting study visits to traditional houses in Belitung, teachers can guide students' understanding of local cultural values, particularly the values of mutual respect and cooperation embodied in the traditional houses of Belitung. These cultural values then contribute to fostering an inclusive attitude among students in their daily lives and serve as a unifying strength amidst the cultural diversity in Indonesia.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL ON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS SCIENCE SELF-EFFICACY

This research aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning models on elementary school students' science self-efficacy. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design using the Independent T-Test hypothesis test. The subjects of this study were 47 sixth grade students of SD Negeri 021 Sungai Kunjang. The research data were taken in qualitative form. The results of this study are the acquisition of students' science self-efficacy scores in the experimental class, namely 208 in the pre-test, and 201 in the post-test, while in the control class, the pre-test score was 183, and the post-test was 181. The results of the hypothesis test showed a 2-tailed sig value of 0.406 (> 0.05) so that H0 was accepted and Ha was rejected. This is due to the limitations of the study and the complex concept of self-efficacy and requires long-term and consistent intervention, so that the impact can be seen more optimally. The dimensions of science self-efficacy also have a strong role in forming good SSE, so that the intervention given needs to pay attention to all dimensions evenly.
